Ethiopia is on the path toward development, economic transformation and the restoration of internal peace. Through ongoing efforts to strengthen national security, promote stability and address internal conflicts, the government is working to create a more peaceful and prosperous future. However, external interference and alleged support for armed groups operating inside the country risk undermining these efforts. Such actions, if substantiated, would prolong violence, weaken national reconciliation and threaten Ethiopia’s progress toward lasting peace.

A country cannot achieve sustainable development when its internal security is undermined by external actors pursuing their own geopolitical interests. Ethiopia’s challenges must be addressed through inclusive political dialogue and peaceful engagement, not by providing support to armed groups or escalating regional tensions.

Neighboring countries and international partners should respect Ethiopia’s sovereignty, refrain from actions that fuel internal conflict, and support constructive efforts to promote peace and stability across the Horn of Africa. Regional disagreements should be resolved through diplomacy and cooperation rather than through interference in another country’s domestic affairs.

Ethiopia’s stability is essential not only to its own development but also to the security and economic integration of the wider region. The African Union and the international community should encourage regional dialogue, investigate credible allegations of external interference and uphold the principles of sovereignty and non-interference.

Ethiopia has the sovereign right and responsibility to protect its national integrity, safeguard its citizens and defend its territorial unity in accordance with international law. Respecting that right while pursuing peaceful solutions is essential to preventing further conflict and building a more stable Horn of Africa.
